Dress Code

CECFC Dress Code:

The CECFC Workforce Readiness Guarantee focuses on the attitudes, behaviors, and skills essential for successful employment; therefore, all students and staff are expected to uphold the dress code and to promote common sense workforce attire.

ALL (on- and off-campus) students must be in dress code while attending a class on the CECFC campus, attending any school supported activity, and during all tutoring and advising appointments. This also includes while conducting business on campus during the summer months when school is not in session. Students out of dress code will be required to change into clothes aligned with the dress code prior to attending classes, issued a Write Up, and will be assigned detention accordingly.

Any questions about whether an item is out of dress code should be asked of a CECFC Leadership Team member before the item is worn.

CECFC Dress Code Expectations and Guidelines:

  1. All attire must be free of holes, tears and fraying including jeans and pants.
  2. Workforce ready attire is not overly tight or loose.
  3. Appropriate dress code attire must be worn under any “see through” item.
  4. Any clothing, jewelry, and accessories containing any words, symbols, or pictures which include the following: any references to sex, drugs, tobacco, alcohol, weapons, obscenities, profanities, as well as anything vulgar, lewd, legally libelous, distracting, and/or dangerous are prohibited and must be removed or covered.

SHIRTS/TOPS: Shirts/tops must cover torsos/backs/midriffs/cleavage. Shoulders must be covered minimally with a cap sleeve. Similarly, button or zip up tops must be buttoned or zipped unless the shirt underneath meets all the previously listed requirements. T-Shirts (long or short sleeve) and hoodies (without the hood being “on”) are permitted.

PANTS/BOTTOMS/DRESSES: For all students, the minimal length of shorts is to the top of the knee cap. Dresses and skirts must also be as long as the top of the knee cap while standing, regardless if it is in the front or the back of the leg. Leggings (or any variation determined by a CECFC Staff member) may ONLY be worn beneath skirts or dresses meeting the length requirements. Pants/bottoms are to be worn no lower than the hipbones. Athletic wear is only permitted to be worn on campus during PE activities. Bottoms intended for swimming and/or sleeping are not permitted. This includes, but is not limited to: pajamas, pajama pants, board shorts/swim trunks and swimming/bathing suits.

CECFC Sweatpants (with CECFC logo) may be worn on Spirit Fridays.

SHOES: Footwear must be worn at all times. Slippers may not be worn.

  • Permissible piercings include: pierced ears and one small nose stud. Other facial and visible body piercings (including gauges) must be discretely covered. Nose rings are not permissible.
  • Hats, hoods, bandanas, sweatbands, and head scarves are not to be worn in CEC buildings at any time. Traditional, religious head wear is allowed after the CECFC Leadership Team meets with the student and parent/guardian prior to the head wear being worn.
  • Any accessory worn to cover non-compliant clothing is not permitted.
  • Blankets are not clothing, therefore please leave them at home.

CECFC Dance Dress Code:

If the CECFC Dance Dress Code is not followed, the ticket will be VOID.

Jackets, sweaters, or other garments MAY NOT be used to cover inappropriate attire.

Dresses must not be shorter than 2 inches above the knee.
Dresses must not have slits that go higher than 2 inches above the knee.
Short, tight dresses are not appropriate for CECFC dances.
Back cutouts below the waist, low necklines, visible midriffs, low straps or low cutouts are not permitted.
If the hem lines of the top and skirt overlap, a two piece dress is permitted.
No pierced body parts are to be visible except the ear lobes and one nose stud.

All clothing must still adhere to the CECFC dress code.

All dress code clothing items are subject to CECFC Leadership staff discretion. If a specific item is not listed above, it does not mean a staff member cannot issue a warning about that item and then issue disciplinary action if the same article of clothing is worn again.

All personal items left on school property after 3:30pm on Friday, or the last school day of the week, will be donated to a local charity.
